Stages of a restoration: 3. Re-build

Frame wise, the only parts salvagable from the forks were the bottom sliders. Even the head bearings were shot. The swinging arm bearings had to be cut out!

 

We threw the rear suspension units away as well - surprise! The petrol tank was from a pre unit, and mounted on walking stick rubbers! Rear mudguard was from a 5 speed machine, so too was the rear grab rail and seat, not right at all. Foot rests were of two different lengths!
Almost finished, by the way the client requested twin leading shoe front hook for road use but will put in original brake for shows. An original chain case is yet to be sourced.
